Sleep Issues

Looking for better sleep?

Do you wake up feeling invigorated and ready to start your day, or do you reach for the snooze button, squeezing in every precious last second in bed before reaching for that first cup of coffee to kick-start your day?

If you answered the latter, you’re not alone.

Currently around 33 to 45 per cent of Australian adults suffer with sleep issues and around 500,000 rely on sleep medication.

As adults, we need a minimum of eight hours of good quality of sleep per night. Do you consistently meet this requirement?

Many of my clients present with a form of sleep disorder or deprivation, even if they feel as though they are sleeping through the night. This could be due to one of the four types of common sleep disorders:

  • sleep onset – difficulty falling asleep;
  • sleep maintenance – waking numerous times throughout the night;
  • non-restorative sleep – falling asleep easily, but waking up feeling as though you’ve not slept at all; or
  • waking early – waking up very early in the morning around 2am or 3am and not being able to fall back asleep.

A lack of quality sleep can lead to:

  • fatigue
  • increased stress and anxiety
  • concentration and memory impairment
  • digestive issues
  • headaches
  • mood disturbances

To help our body perform optimally, we need sleep to contribute to these functions:

  • remove toxic by-products from our brain, which have been linked with cognitive diseases such as dementia;
  • assist optimal liver function – sleep enables liver cells to build and synthesise;
  • produce growth hormone which helps us repair injured cells; and
  • control the two hormones leptin and ghrelin which normalise our appetite telling us when we are hungry and when we are full.

You deserve better sleep and all that goes with it.

I heard Kat on a podcast discussing the use of herbs to aid sleep . I contacted her & arranged an online video appointment, as I live in Victoria. Kat was very professional and thorough with my health/medical history. I felt at ease talking about all the changes I’m experiencing in my body as I approach my late 50’s. Kat put together a personal mix of liquid herbs to assist in staying asleep & improve my bowel movement frequency. My parcel took about 1 week to arrive by post. Over a few sessions Kat tweaked my personalised mix to optimise the results. I highly recommend Kat to anyone looking to optimise their health via natural remedies.
